are the self. You are imperishable, untouched and untainted by the probabilities of the world. Every particle in this body is changing. The mind is changing, The world is changing all the time. The entire Universe is in the state of fluidity. A seed has the possibility of a tree, of the leaves, of a branch, of fruits, of flowers and of multiplication. A seed needs proper ground, proper conditions, sunlight, water, soil for it to sprout and blossom. Human consciousness is like that. Either the seed can be dormant for years together keeping its possibility within itself or it starts sprouting. The sprouting of the seed of human consciousness is discrimination. Freedom comes with discrimination.

governed by nature. They do not need discrimination, nor do they have the freedom. So they never break the laws of nature. The human mind has this possibility of freedom and it also has been given discrimination. It is through wisdom and discrimination that the human consciousness can progress or else it can remain where it is. You will never see an animal overeating. They have no choice. But human being have this freedom to do whatever they want. This freedom is given along with discrimination, along with consequences of action. Knowledge of consequences of action helps humans to choose and lead life with wisdom. Are you getting what I am saying? The human life is governed by wisdom and discrimination. How should this come up? How can this be enhanced? How do you make the seed sprout? A seed has the possibility. But if it is not watered then the possibility remains a possibility and does not manifest.

The husk is strong. The sprout moves through this and the grain comes out. Similarly, by the practice of eight limbs of Yoga, the impurities are destroyed and wisdom as well as discrimination shines forth.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: trebuchet ms; Yoga?

Yoga has eight limbs and each one is connected to the whole. So, if you pull one, everything else will come. When the body is developing, the whole body develops simultaneously. Organs develop together and all the aspects or limbs of the body develop. That is why these are all the limbs of Yoga.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: trebuchet ms;

Unfortunately, people think that these are all stages, one after the other which has to be achieved. This is wrong understanding or misconception that has crept in Yoga.

Sign in to My GuestBook

I started to recollect my first visit to Alleppey at the age of 18 years. As I walked towards the boat Jetty, the polluted canal greeted me. The opulent houseboats in blackish water seemed repelling. From Alappuzha I chose ThanneerMukkham bund as my destination. and boarded a boat that ferried to different islets. Within minutes it filled with passengers of every hue— ordinary people who went about the business of their daily lives, youngsters bent on adventure, and backpackers who easily got into vantage positions. As the boat chug-chugged, the shores receded, the waterway widened and expanded. The color of the water changed from black to green and in the distance blue waves promised peace. Slowly the feel of the sea enveloped; people sat silent, overwhelmed. The rippling waters sent waves of laughter, glistening in the sunlight. The sea breeze played its music, loud and strong. The youngsters sat subdued, all their bubbling enthusiasm kept at bay. Clouds hovered in the horizon. Small islets of farmland loomed like emerald gems. Half-naked urchins fishing in their small boats were part of the seascape. Time and tide rambled as the moving waters rocked the boat... Then it ambled from wide expanse to lonely greens. Country boats, which carried drinking water in cans and other foodstuffs in boxes, were on their business trips. Farmhands stood up with their food packets and water cans, ready to disembark. This is the only place in the world where paddy is cultivated under sea level. They harness rainwater for farming. And excess water from the farm is pumped out into the backwaters. <?xml:namespace prefix = o />

The boat neared the ferry. Some of the passengers got down; none got in; the bells clanked. The boat moved on from islet to islet. People got in and got out. Slowly, its narrow path widened. Speedboats whisked past. Country boats labored along with their cargo. They still give these waters its old world charm. Some of them hoisted their sails to take advantage of a favorable wind. Once upon a time these waters were the only means of transport in this area. Houseboats loiter, taking all the time in the world. Perhaps the rich has to pay dearly for the luxury of free time in these houseboats to cope with their busy life. And the sea is home to all, a force like God. Although apparent inequities co-exist, the sea gives what each one seeks.

Thanneermukham, Water-Face, is something unique. The bund regulates the flow of water. It blocks seawater from getting into the backwaters . During the rainy season, sweet water that sweeps the land, flows into the sea through these backwaters. But after the rains, when rivulets dry up, seawater flows back, during a high tide. This phenomenon creates water problems for those who live here surrounded by waters! The bund looks like a dam and vehicles flow as if it were a fly-over. The crew of the boat is the best people to give information. Some young men from the neighboring states gathered around. Then the backpackers followed, as they understood many English words used by us. Very soon we found ourselves to be a group with one aim: bent on following a water trail on an economy package. The crew helped us to hire a boat that carried some 30 people, paying Rs. 150 an hour.

And here we go cruising— in our own boat, at our own time, the way we want, for a very cheap price. The boys hoot; the white men beam; I feel free, free like a bird. We move up and down; climb to the top. The dirty canals are no more for us. The widening waters our home; the surfing ripples our friends; the cascading winds our singers. The blue sky is our dome and we breathe the golden sunshine. This is a world that lives in our dream and we are the sole inhabitants of this wonderland. We circle the islet of Kumarakam now.

The resorts, meant for the rich, and the houseboats that pamper the wealthy are forbidden places for us. But who bothers when so much and so precious of ... what is so indefinable, is being lavished upon us. And we sing our souls to dream endlessly, rocked by waves and winds. The afternoon mellows amid an archipelago of green islets. We move around a tiny isle, Pathira Manal, the Sands of Midnight. A night here, where there are no resorts, will be an ethereal experience— a midnight silvered by the full moon, or a midnight of no-moon, the inky black sky ablaze with stardust whence the Milky Way flows down to the Earth, or a midnight of thunder and tempest. My watch showed that we were in waters for almost five hours.

It is possible to go to Kollam? Some even venture beyond the placid backwaters into the turbulent sea trying to reach the cape of the subcontinent. But boating in the nights is not allowed as fishermen cast their nets, during night. So we alight at Kottayam for night-stay.

The Mystery of Man

The Mystery of Man
The Numerology

According to Numerology, every number originates in the absolute unity of the unmanifested source of the soul and is contained in the Divine Totality. Consequently, all created souls have distinctive numbers, and are blessed with the characteristics inherent in their particular number, characteristics that distinguish one soul from all other souls.

These numbers are seed ideas originating from the unmanifested Center of Pure Being. Esoterically, because they represent abstract divine ideas, numbers allow us to understand what is beyond ordinary human comprehension. The meaning of numbers and the role that each number plays is rooted in the esoteric meaning of sacred numbers and the fact that each number is the embodiment of a Divine idea.
By opening our intuition, we can distinguish their intangible qualities. Numbers are interconnected with levels of consciousness, so when we meditate and work with an esoteric number, we are working from a corresponding level of consciousness within ourselves and allow the number to affect our own level of consciousness and intuition. Esoteric meditation and work with numbers, therefore, helps us attain the meaning of existence and of causality.
Numerology is one of the oldest sciences of symbols. Plato called it "the highest level of knowledge" and Pythagoras regarded it as "the essence of cosmic and inward harmony." No two numbers are identical, and as each soul is blessed with the characteristics of its own number, these distinctions make each soul different from all other souls.

Some traditions liken souls to stars. Now, a star emits its own light, but this visible star is only the physical body of the invisible ( subtle) star. Consequently, the visible light emitted is not its own emanation. Our sun emits various types of radiations, differentiated by the number of their vibration, the sum of which constitutes a vibrating sphere that embraces the planets of the solar system. That we can detect each type of radiation individually (infrared, light, ultraviolet, etc.) shows that they co-exist without blending, due to their various vibratory states. However, despite their diversity, all of these emanations are part of a single sun.
This image sheds light on the twin aspects of the soul entity that together constitute a unique essence: the characteristics of its number called the permanent witness, which imprints its signature on the newborn, and that divine essence (pure eternal light, which is impersonal and non-specific) termed the eternal witness.
Unless we know who we are, how can we genuinely give ourselves to others? So, probably the most important journey we shall ever take is the one inward. The quest can be long, but help is at hand, and we are never left alone. Our two witnesses are our divine guides and they accompany us on our sacred quest to the core of our soul entity from whence they came. Therefore, approach the quest without fear, look inward, and awaken your two witnesses within your soul entity and allow them to carry you to fulfill your destiny.
